Laboratory staff shared with colleagues from Russian and Chinese universities their vision of connecting such technological trends as digital transformation and energy transition. A breakout paper "Role and Trends of IT in the Energy Efficiency of the Economy of the 6th Technological Paradigm" and a poster presentation "Integrating Data Centers and Hyperscalers into the Low-Carbon Production Cycle" were presented. The ideas of the laboratory staff on the role of information technology in energy efficiency and on the approach to IT-energy integration seemed new to the community and aroused keen interest.
Based on the results of the conference, the papers of other laboratory staff will also be published in the Proceedings:
- Information and communication technologies (ICT) and digital technologies to support the energy life cycle
- Predicting Electricity Consumption Using Machine-Learning Methods
- Determination of pollutant emissions during the life cycle of wind farms by aggregated data
It is important for members of the scientific team of the megagrant to stay in the current research field and understand what aspects of energy transition issues are being addressed by colleagues from different universities in Russia and other countries. As a result of familiarization with the conference papers and communication with colleagues from other universities, the following conclusions were made that the research conducted in the CIRETEC-GT laboratory offers an original perspective on certain aspects of the energy transition.
