Akaev Askar Akaevich (Doctor of Technical Sciences, foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, leading researcher at the Laboratory of Interdisciplinary Research and Education on Technological and Economic Problems of the Energy Transition, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University) will make a presentation on October 17, 2023 at the 216th meeting of the Energy Seminar A.S. Nekrasov at the Institute of Economic Forecasting of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The topic of the report is the Energy transition in the 21st century, stabilizing the warming of the Earth's climate.
The report will outline the goals of the historic 2015 UN Paris Climate Agreement and the framework for a 21st century global energy strategy to achieve these goals. The results of computer modeling of various scenarios for implementing the “Great Energy Transition” to predominantly carbon-free “green” energy sources with stabilization of climate warming will be shown. The results of these studies formed the basis for the report of Russian scientists “Overcoming the Limits to Growth”, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the publication of the first official report of the Club of Rome “The Limits to Growth”.
